SCTJM News- Go out into the deep |

"At the beginning of the
new millennium, and at the close of the Great Jubilee during which
we celebrated the two thousandth anniversary of the birth of Jesus
and a new stage of the Church's
journey begins, our hearts ring out
with the words of Jesus when one day, after speaking to the crowds
from Simon's boat, he invited the Apostle to "put out into the deep"
for a catch: "Duc in altum" (Lk 5:4).
Peter and his
first companions trusted Christ's words, and cast the nets.
"When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish" (Lk
5:6).

Sr.
Maria Jose and Sr. Juana Maria attended IRL’s national meeting in
Chicago: “Prayer Pathway to Holiness.” The Conference was in
response to Pope Benedict’s XVI’s message for the 2006 World Day of
Prayer for Vocations, reminding all religious and other consecrated
persons that : “their primary duty is to live a life of deep union
with God. Consecrated men and women must be willing to devote
adequate time and attention to prayer. Following the example of the
Blessed Virgin Mary, they must always be attentive to the movement
of the Holy Spirit as they strive for a deep union with God and
conformity to His will. Such spiritual intimacy is certain to lead
to holiness, for it opens them to a total and exclusive following of
Jesus, and to complete availability to Christ's saving mission.” In
addition to the snow and the wonderful children’s choir, the sisters
raved about the talks. Most especially Fr. Kubik, SJ’s talk,
“Heart to Heart Conversation.” Fr. spoke about how the Heart of
Jesus wants to communicate to us intimately and how the place for us

heart….”
