Xerxes I


 Xerxes I - A Persian king to be identified with Assuerus, the husband of Vashti and later of Esther. In the second year of his reign, Xerxes I (485-456) marched against Egypt and subdue this land; he then invaded Greece in 480 B.C but his army defeated and returned to Susa. Esther was made queen in the seventh year of his reign.
