Saints and Theology of the Heart - Sts. Nereus and Achilleus

Martyrs
Sts. Nereus and Achillius
Optional Mermorial: May 12

They were soldiers in the time of the Emperor Diocletian.  However, they were not even Christians when the persecution began.  The courage of the martyrs led them to believe in Jesus Christ.  They were martyred by having their throats slit in Rome around the year 100.  Their bodies were buried in the catacombs on the Via Ardentina.
On the same day: Saint Pancras
