CHAPLET TO
OUR LADY, SPOUSE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Opening Prayer: In the
Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
The Sequence of Pentecost
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
And from Your celestial home,
shed a ray of light divine!
Come, Father of the poor!
Come, Source of all our store!
Come, within our bosoms shine.
You, of comforters the best,
You, the soul’s most welcome guest,
sweet refreshment here below!
In our labor, rest most sweet,
grateful coolness in the heat,
solace in the midst of woe.
O most blessed light divine,
shine within these hearts of Yours,
and our innermost being fill!
Where You are not, man has naught,
nothing good in deed or thought,
nothing free from taint of ill.
Heal our wounds, our strength renew;
on our dryness pour Your dew,
wash the stains of guilt away.
Bend the stubborn heart and will,
melt the frozen, warm the chill,
guide the steps that go astray.
On the faithful who adore
and confess You evermore
in Your sevenfold gift descend.
Give them virtue’s sure reward;
give them Your salvation, Lord;
give them joys that never end. Amen. Alleluia.

CLOSING PRAYERS: The Veni Creator Spiritus
Come, Holy Spirit, Creator, come
and from Thy bright heavenly throne,
Come, take possession of our souls,
and make them all Thy own.
Thou who art called the Paraclete,
best Gift of God above,
the living spring, the living fire,
sweet unction and true love.
Thou who art sevenfold in Thy grace,
finger of God’s right hand,
His promise, teaching little ones
to speak and understand.
O, fill our minds with Thy blessed light,
with love our hearts enflame,
and with Thy strength, which ne’er decays,
confirm our mortal frame.
Far from us drive our deadly foe;
True peace unto us bring,
and through all perils lead us safe
beneath Thy sacred wing.
Through Thee, may we the Father know,
through Thee, the eternal Son,
and Thee the Spirit of Them both,
thrice-blessed three in one.
All glory to the Father be,
with His co-equal Son;
the same to Thee, great Paraclete,
while endless ages run. Amen. Alleluia.
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Lord Jesus Christ, from the Cross You breathed forth Your Spirit,
after You had entrusted Your Mother to the Beloved Disciple. Thank
You, Lord, for these precious gifts. Standing with St. John the
Beloved, I also accept these graces. May Your Holy Spirit enter into
my spirit, into my heart, into my relationships, into every aspect
of my life; I welcome Your Holy Spirit to be my constant companion
and guide. I receive the Virgin Mary as my Mother and my Queen. I
accept her into all that is my own. May she dispose all that is in
me so that, by her intercession and by the work of the Holy Spirit,
Your life and likeness may be formed in me. Amen.
