Holy ROSARY FOR VOCATIONS
By Servants of
the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary
The Joyful Mysteries
Saturday and Monday
The
Annunciation
(Luke 1: 26-33, 38)
The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a virgin betrothed to a man
named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary.
And coming to her he said: "Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.
Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall
name him Jesus." Mary said: "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
May it be done to me according to your word."
We pray Virgin Mary that many
hearts respond with love and generosity to the call of God to leave
everything and follow Him to wherever He calls them. We pray
especially for an increase in generous vocations to our Church.
The Visitation
(Luke 1: 39-45)
During those days Mary set out and traveled to a town of Judah,
where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When
Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and
Elizabeth, filled with the holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice
and said, "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the
fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother
of my Lord should come to me? Blessed are you who believed that what
was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled."
We pray Virgin Mary that you
visit the hearts of many young people so that by their generous and
selfless offering they may know how to give themselves with ardent
zeal as a sacrifice to the Lord for the good of the Church and
souls.
The
Birth of Our Lord
(Luke 2: 6-12)
The time came for Mary to have her child, and she gave birth to her
first born son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in
a manger. Now there were shepherds in that region living in the
fields. The angel of the good news of great joy that will be for all
the people. Today in the city of David a savior has been born for
you who is Messiah and Lord."
We pray Virgin Mary that by
virtue of the birth of your Son Jesus the spark of love to the
extreme may be enkindled so that many young people may discover the
sublime call to Religious Life and by means of their response to the
Lord they may cooperate with you to give birth to Christ in the
hearts of all.
The
Presentation of Jesus in the Temple
(Luke 2: 25-32)
There was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon. When the
parents brought in the child Jesus, Simeon took he him up in his
arms, and said: "Lord, now you may let your servant go in peace, for
my eyes have seen your salvation. Simeon blessed them, and said
unto Mary his mother: "Behold, this child is set for the fall and
rising again of many in Israel; and you, a sword shall pierce your
heart that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed."
We pray Virgin Mary that you may
grant peace and serenity to all the young people who in their hearts
experience the call to Religious Life so that they may respond to
the will of the Father. Place all their fears in the wound of the
Pierced Heart of Jesus so that having abandoned themselves they may
know to give the Lord a prompt and joyful response as you did.
The
Child Jesus Lost and Found in the Temple
(Luke 2: 41-50)
Each year his parents went to Jerusalem for the feast of the
Passover. As they were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in
Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it. Not finding him, they
returned to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found
him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening
to them and asking them questions, and all who heard him were
astonished at his understanding and his answers.
We pray Virgin Mary for all
those who in seeking to give a response to the will of God have
strayed away from it in fear and weakness. We ask you to give them
the grace of strength to leave all for Christ. May today there be no
fiat refused to God.
The Luminous Mysteries
Thursday
The Baptism of Our Lord
(Matthew 3: 13-17)
Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by
him. He came up from the water and behold, the heavens were opened
[for him], and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove [and]
coming upon him. And a voice came from the heavens, saying, "This is
my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."
We pray Virgin Mary for all
those souls that in the moment of their Baptism the Lord chose them
to follow Him more closely in Religious Life. We ask that by your
intercession all those who have received this grace may know to open
their hearts and give a response to God our Father.
The
Wedding at Cana
(John 2: 1-11)
There was a wedding in Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was
there. Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding.
When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have
no wine." [And] Jesus said to her, "Woman, how does your concern
affect me? My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the
servers, "Do whatever he tells you."
We pray Virgin Mary that you
intercede for all those who will be called to Religious Life, asking
for the grace of strength; that they may obey Jesus, giving him
their generous offering. We ask that you direct and guide them and,
just like the servants of Cana, they may know to listen without fear
to your voice that says “Do whatever He tells you.”
The
Proclamation of the Kingdom
(Mark 1: 14-15)
After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the
gospel of God: "This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God
is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."
We pray Virgin Mary that you may
raise many young people who, attentive to the needs of their
brethren, may open their hearts to a total self-offering. Intercede
for them the grace of an ardent zeal for preaching the Gospel and
for the salvation of souls.
The
Transfiguration of Our Lord
(Matthew 17: 1-8)
Jesus took Peter, James, and John
his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he
was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun and his
clothes became white as light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared
to them, conversing with him. A bright cloud cast a shadow over
them, and from the cloud came a voice that said, "This is my beloved
Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him."
We pray Virgin Mary that you
confirm in all the young people who are called to Religious Life the
certainty in the election of God who calls them and reveals himself
to a select few, attracting them to a life closer to Him. May they
know to listen to the call of the Lord who invites them by saying:
“This is My Son, My chosen; listen to Him!”
The
Institution of the Eucharist
(Matthew 26: 26-28)
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing,
broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, "Take and eat; this
is my body." Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them,
saying, "Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the
covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness
of sins."
We pray Virgin Mary that you may
pour the grace of a generous response in the hearts of many, an
offering that goes further, that gives itself to the extreme. We ask
that you awaken in all the young people who will be called to
Religious Life a fervor and love for Eucharistic adoration. Starting
now, make them souls that adore the Eucharist.
The Sorrowful Mysteries
Tuesday and Friday
The Agony of Our Lord in the Garden
(Luke 22: 39-46)
Then he went to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him.
When he arrived at the place he said to them, "Pray that you may not
fall into temptation." And kneeling, he prayed: "Father, if you are
willing, take this cup away from me; still, not my will but yours be
done." He was in such agony and he prayed so fervently that his
sweat became like drops of blood falling on the ground.
We pray Virgin Mary for all
those young people who feel doubt towards the election and
invitation from the Lord to Religious Life. We ask that just like
Jesus they may respond: “Father if you are willing , take this cup
away from me; still, not my will but yours be done.” No matter the
cost, may they know to respond to the Lord.
The Scourging of Our Lord at the
Pillar (Mark 15:
6-15)
Pilate cried out to them, "What [do you want] me to do with [the man
you call] the king of the Jews?" They shouted again, "Crucify him."
Pilate said to them, "Why? What evil has he done?" They only shouted
the louder, "Crucify him." So Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd,
released Barabbas to them and, after he had Jesus scourged, handed
him over to be crucified.
We pray Virgin Mary that you may
grant the grace to all of us who are called to Religious Life, those
of the present and of the future, to not deny Jesus. Grant us the
grace to be faithful to the end, to never scourge His mystical Body.
The Crowning of Our Lord with
Thorns (John 19:
1-8)
The soldiers wove a crown out of thorns and placed it on his head,
and clothed him in a purple cloak, and they came to him and said,
"Hail, King of the Jews!" And they struck him repeatedly. Once more
Pilate went out and said to them: "Behold, the man!" When the chief
priests and the guards saw him they cried out, "Crucify him, crucify
him!" Pilate said to them, "Take him yourselves and crucify him. I
find no guilt in him."
We pray Virgin Mary that you
make the present and future consecrated souls pure souls, dedicated
to the call and election of God. Souls that console. May they
meditate daily on the Passion of the Lord and see in it the model of
offering and love to which they have been called.
The Carrying of the Cross
(John 19: 16-22)
So they took Jesus, and carrying the cross himself he went out to
what is called the Place of the Skull. There they crucified him, and
with him, two others, one on either side, with Jesus in the middle.
Pilate also had an inscription written and put on the cross. It
read, "Jesus the Nazorean, the King of the Jews."
We ask you
Virgin Mary that the faithful fiat of many religious may help carry
the cross of our Lord. Do not allow any of his elected ones to add
more weight to his Cross. We ask an
offering
that is to the extreme and
selfless.
We pray especially for all those young people who feel weak to
respond when thinking of the demands of your call. Grant them the
love that is necessary for
their offering.
The Crucifixion and Death of Our
Lord (John 19:
25-30)
Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's
sister. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he
loved, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son." Then he
said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother." And from that hour the
disciple took her into his home.
We pray
Virgin Mary that by the suffering of your Son on the Cross and the
fecundity of His Pierced Heart Religious Life may be renewed,
showering many young people with the grace they need to make the
seed of their vocation blossom and by means of their fiat they may
contribute to the New Springtime in our Church.
The Glorious Mysteries
Wednesday and Sunday
The Resurrection of Our Lord
(Mark 16: 1-7)
Very early when the sun had risen, on the first day of the week,
they came to the tomb. They were saying to one another, "Who will
roll back the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?" On
entering the tomb they saw a young man sitting on the right side,
clothed in a white robe. He said to them: "Do not be amazed! You
seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised; he is not
here. Behold the place where they laid him."
We pray
Virgin Mary that by the merits of the Resurrection of your Son you
may raise many young people to live the call to the Religious
Vocation so that they may fill the entire Church with their youthful
vigor. Allow many to respond to the Lord without putting limits or
conditions, giving their all.
The Ascension of Our Lord into
Heaven (Luke 24:
45-53)
Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. And he said
to them, "Behold I am sending the promise of my Father upon you; but
stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."
Then he led them [out] as far as Bethany, raised his hands, and
blessed them. As he blessed them he parted from them and was taken
up to heaven.
We pray
Virgin Mary that, just like the first apostles, many young people
may feel the desire to preach the Word of the Lord, especially by
means of the offering of their own lives. As Scripture says: “they
went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them
and confirmed the word through accompanying signs.”
The Descent of the Holy Spirit upon
the Apostles and Our Blessed Mother
(Acts 2: 1-7, 11)
When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one
place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a
strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they
were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted
and came to rest on each of them. And they were all filled with the
Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit
enabled them to proclaim.
We pray
Virgin Mary that the force of the Holy Spirit may invade the souls
of all the young people who are called to be the future Priests and
Religious in this New Springtime in the Church. May they know, just
like the first Christians, how to discover the call from God by
means of prayer and united in one spirit through your maternal
intercession.
The Assumption of Our Lady into
Heaven (Luke 1:
46-55)
And Mary said: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my
spirit rejoices in God my savior. For he has looked upon his
handmaid's lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me
blessed. The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is
his name. His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him.”
We pray
Virgin Mary that all souls your Son will call to follow him more
closely may be born from your Immaculate Heart. May you give birth
to them Blessed Mother so that they may become images of your Son,
carriers of God in the world.
The Coronation of Our Lady as Queen
of Heaven and earth
(Judith 13: 18-20)
"Blessed are you, daughter, by the Most High God, above all the
women on earth; and blessed be the LORD God, the creator of heaven
and earth. Your deed of hope will never be forgotten by those who
tell of the might of God, because you risked your life when your
people were being oppressed, and you averted our disaster, walking
uprightly before our God."
We pray Virgin Mary that all young
people with a vocational restlessness may find in you a sure refuge
to mature their discernment. May you be the channel from which are
born all vocations that your Son will grant the Church so that no
false vocation disconcerts Seminaries and Religious Communities.
