Consecration to the Immaculate Heart--of Families

Oh Immaculate Heart of Mary, sure refuge of sinners and firm anchor of salvation; to you, today, I consecrate my family. In these times of great spiritual battle, struggle for truth and pure family values, and during these times of tribulation which have begun for the whole world, we ask that you cover us with your protective mantle, defend us within your maternal arms and guide us in the true and secure way to your Son, Jesus Christ.

Holy Mother, in consecrating my family to your Immaculate Heart, I recognize you as our Mother and our most perfect model of purity, humility and love. We open our hearts to you and ask you to mold us, form us, instruct us and teach us to be like your Son, Jesus Christ. That we may be living images of Jesus in our families, in our Church and in the world.

By virtue of the exemplary life of the Holy Family, I ask that this family may be a domestic sanctuary where we pray together, we openly communicate with joy and enthusiasm; where husbands and wives love and respect each other; where the young respect and obey their parents; where parents love, form, care for, teach and guide their children to mature in grace before God and man. Where elders are treated with reverence and respect. Where children are appreciated as the most marvelous and precious gifts of God’s love.

I ask, by virtue of this consecration, that this family be protected from all evil, spiritual, physical or material. May your Immaculate Heart reign in our homes so that Jesus Christ will always be loved, heard, consulted and obeyed in this family; so that we may live in Him and He may live in us.

Oh Immaculate Mother, I____________, renew and ratify today in your hands, the vows of my Baptism. I renounce forever satan, his ways and his temptations; and I totally consecrate myself and my family to Jesus Christ, the Word Incarnate, our Lord and Savior; to carry our crosses before Him every day of our lives and to be faithful to Him now and forever.

Oh Blessed Mother, in the presence of the celestial court, we elect you on this day as our Mother and Teacher. We ask you to be our guide and our refuge. We surrender and consecrate ourselves to you, all we are, and all we have, without exception, in accordance to your will, for the greater glory of God, now and forever. Amen
