Queen of Peace

With great joy in our hearts, we would like to announce that our Mother Foundress, Mother Adela Galindo, SCTJM has established our first convent in the Diocese of Orlando, Florida. The name of the convent is "Our Lady Queen of Peace" and it was established on the Solemnity of the Assumption, August 15, 2012. Bishop John Gerard Noonan, from the Diocese of Orlando, desired that our Mother Foundress bring our charism into the Diocese. After having witnessed the power of the charism in the hearts of the faithful, Fr. Stephen Parkes, the current pastor of Annunciation Parish in Altamonte Springs, invited Mother to become part of the Annunciation Parish family through the service of the sisters. The parish has opened their hearts and doors to the charism and three of our sisters, Sr. Maria Teresa, Sr. Rachel Marie and Sr. Christine Marie, SCTJM began to reside and minister in this parish. A third diocese has become a permanent home for our marian charism and for our Institute!

The sisters have taken on different ministries at the parish and in serving the diocese. Sr. Maria Teresa, SCTJM is the Pastoral Assistant to Fr. Parkes, the priests and laity of the parish helping with all the pastoral needs of the parish family. Sr. Christine, SCTJM is the Ministry Support Coordinator - she will be working with the ministries in the parish offering them spiritual support and guidance. Sr. Rachel Marie, SCTJM is the Director of Evangelization and Faith Formation - she will be working with the different areas of faith formation in the parish, to deepen and build up the life of faith and sense of mission in the parish.

We give thanks to our Lord for the gift of this new ocean that we must row out into before the beginning of the Year of Faith, and we pray that Our Lady's ardent faith may enflame our hearts and our ministry thus to be living witnesses and ardent apostles of the Splendor of our Faith to many hearts... in the heart of the Church and in the heart of the world. .

Testimonies of the sisters entrusted with this new mission... to go out into the deep of this new ocean

Sr. Maria Teresa, SCTJM: Mary is the available one...

We give thanks to Our Lady for opening the path for our new convent "Our Lady Queen of Peace" in the Diocese of Orlando, FL. We give thanks for our Mother Foundress, Mother Adela who continues to give birth to new life for the Church. We are blessed to be part of this historical moment of her living witness of life-giving fecundity. We have only been here a few days and it seems like months. The priests, parishioners, and staff of Annunciation Parish where we are serving and ministering have embraced us with so much love, hospitality, and expectancy. I joyfully can say that I feel already part of this local family. It is beautiful to see the potency and fecundity of our Marian Charism reaching and touching hearts. Mary is the expectant one, the available one, the receptive one. Three virtues I have encountered these first days here in our new home. May we be faithful daughters and servants in the mission to extend the Queenship of Our Lady's Heart in many hearts for the Triumph of Jesus' Heart.

Sr. Christine, SCTJM: Nothing is impossible for God......

The new foundation is a gift from Our Lady with a particular outpouring of love and grace. I truly feel honored to have been asked to serve in this new mission for our community. Nothing is impossible for God and I pray for the graces to glorify Him in everything I do. Thank you for the warm welcome, for all the love and the support. We are blessed to be here serving at Annunciation Parish and in the Diocese of Orlando! God bless you.

Sr. Rachel, SCTJM: His love has brought us here......

I am so grateful to the Lord for the gift of this new ocean and new mission in the Diocese of Orlando! His love has brought us here, and continues to sustain and illuminate our path as we journey forward. My particular mission working with all ages and stages of life in Faith Formation is a beautiful gift and task, one that I pray I may respond to with wisdom, prudence, zeal, and ardent love. May the Two Hearts reign in our hearts, in this new home, and in the hearts of all we will encounter!
